In the competitive world of prop trading, FundedNext is making a name for itself as a prominent firm. We recently sat down with Roman, a trader who has embraced the opportunities provided by FundedNext. Roman shared his trading experiences, strategies, and insights into how the firm has supported his trading journey.
Roman, hailing from Ukraine, has been trading for approximately five to six years. Initially diving into the volatile realm of cryptocurrency, he eventually shifted his focus to Forex trading. “The volatility in crypto died down a bit,” Roman explained, “so I moved to Forex, where I found more opportunities.”
Roman specializes in major Forex pairs, including EUR/USD and GBP/USD, as well as commodities like gold. His trading approach is predominantly day trading, although he occasionally engages in swing trading. “I prefer lower time frames for day trading, but I might take a swing trade if the market conditions are right,” he noted.
Roman’s trading strategy involves meticulously analyzing market liquidity and price movements. He utilizes various time frames, from weekly charts to five-minute or even one-minute intervals. His strategy is influenced by concepts from the ICT (Inner Circle Trader) model, focusing on liquidity pools and market imbalances. “I look at daily highs and lows and then zoom in to see how the market reacts within those ranges,” he explained.
Roman highlighted his satisfaction with the firm’s performance. “The spreads on EUR/USD are perfect, which is crucial for day trading,” he said. He also praised the firm’s fast payout speed, noting that he received his payout within nine hours—a testament to FundedNext’s efficiency.
Roman achieved profitability through significant learning and adaptation. Transitioning from a quality engineer to a full-time trader, he studied technical analysis and ICT concepts. “It took me about a year and a half to become profitable and pass my first challenge,” Roman recounted. His persistence paid off, as he found a reliable firm in FundedNext after navigating various prop firms.
As for his trading preferences, Roman finds Thursdays particularly profitable, a trend he attributes to increased market movements on that day. “Thursdays are often good for trading, perhaps due to the accumulation of market activities earlier in the week,” he observed.
Looking ahead, Roman is optimistic about his trading prospects with FundedNext. He focuses on leveraging his knowledge of liquidity pools and price imbalances to optimize his trading strategies. “Understanding why price moves the way it does is crucial,” he said.
